A spacesuit fryer to the space shuttle program, Apollo astronauts had multiple space suits that were custom made for each astronaut's body. One suit for flight, one for training and one backup. But each of these suits could only be used once during the space shuttle program. Scientists and engineers wanted to create something that could be used more than once and sustained an astronaut in space for long durations of time. What they came up with was practically a wearable spacecraft introducing the extravehicular mobility unit, or E M. U spacesuit.
