You've probably learned that jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. You might even say that jupiter is in charge of a whole system, all its own. Today's most knowledgeable astronomers describe jupiter as a star that didn't quite make it to stardom. Jupiter is a huge ball of gas comprised mostly of helium and hydrogen and large enough to house the earth more than 1300 times. It's not a planet you'd want to visit without the protection of a shuttle, but it sure has some amazing views, including a whopping 70 moons featuring mega moon, Ganymede. Let's take a closer look.
