How Do I View Payments Made To Me Through Voices?

To view payments made to you through Voices' SurePay™ service, you can do the following:

  1. Log in to your Voices account.
  2. Click on 'Payments' to view all payments.

On the Payments screen, you'll see a list of your payments with information such as the job the payment was for, the date you received the payment, and the amount.
 

To see more information related to a payment, tap through the listing to view the Payment Details. Here, you'll see payment details such as:

  • The client's name
  • The payout date
  • The payment amount
  • The platform fee
  • The job title
 

What is SurePay™? 

SurePay™ is the online payment protection service provided by Voices that processes client payments and distributes funds to talent for work that is completed. SurePay™ holds client payments until the client has approved the completed work and authorized Voices to pay the talent. This ensures a risk-free financial transaction for both client and talent by ensuring clients receive the work they were paying for, and talent get paid for completed work.

Note: Managed Services jobs do not leverage SurePay™, nor do they include the 14-day automatic release. Instead, payment is released to talent when the client releases funds to Voices.

 

How Do I Set Up PayPal?

You can set up your PayPal by selecting the 'Me' avatar at the top-right of the page and selecting Account Settings from within the drop-down menu.

PayPal: Enter in your PayPal email address. If you'd like to receive a currency other than US dollars, you can always convert the funds within your PayPal account.

Funds released between Saturday and Friday will be paid out the following Friday.
 

What Do the Payment Statuses Mean?

  • Payments under the Held in SurePay™ tab are still being held by Voices, as the client has not yet clicked the 'Release Payment' button or 14 days have not yet passed from the project delivery date for automatic release of the funds to occur.
  • Payments under the Completed tab have either been authorized to be released or have already been paid out to you by Voices.

You may also review payment details such as the release date and transaction number by clicking on the transaction number.

 

How Do I Add Funds To A Job?

Situations can arise where the initial scope of the job increases, and you need to increase your quote to match the work being requested of you. 
 

To increase your fee BEFORE you are hired:

After you’ve responded to a client’s job, the client can message you. You’ll see any messages on the ‘Messages’ tab of the job and in your ‘Messages’ tab in the top navigation bar.

If you and the client agree on the increase of scope and your increased fee, you can update your fee by:

  1. Head to the ‘My Response tab’ of the job in question.

  2. Click 'Edit Response,' and there, you can change your fee to reflect what was agreed upon.

From there, the client will see the new fee and can hire you at the new amount.
 

To increase your fee AFTER you are hired:

Only the client can add an additional payment to a job. Use the ‘Messages’ feature on your job to agree with the client about the extra payment you require.

The client can use the ‘Add a Payment’ function to add funds on top of the original amount in the job posting. The ‘Add a Payment’ function can be found on both the ‘Agreement’ and ‘Payment’ tabs of said job.

 

How Do I Reduce My Fee On A Job?

Situations can arise where the scope of the job decreases before you’re hired, and you need to reduce your fee to match the work being requested of you. 
 

Before You’re Hired:

After you’ve responded to a client’s job, the client can message you. You’ll see any messages on the ‘Messages’ tab of the job and in your ‘Messages’ tab in the top navigation bar.

If you and the client agree on the decrease of scope and your reduced fee, you can update your fee by:

  1. Head to the ‘My Response tab’ of the job in question.

  2. Click 'Edit Response,' and there, you can change your fee to reflect what was agreed upon.

From there, the client will see the new fee and can hire you at the correct amount.
 

After You’re Hired:

You or the client will need to email [email protected] with the job number and the updated amount of money you should receive. 


 

What is the Minimum Budget for Jobs on Voices?  

Voices requires clients to select a talent budget that meets a minimum amount that is specific to the type of work they are requesting in their job posting. Talent Budget minimums ensure that clients are successful in finding the right talent that meets their needs, and that talent are fairly compensated for their work. 
 

Why is the Main Currency US Dollars?  

Voices recognizes that the vast majority of our clients and talent are based in the United States. Offering a standard currency simplifies payment and allows talent to receive funds for work completed. Offering the option for talent to receive payment through PayPal ensures that talent can receive funds in the currency of their choice.
