Voices Ramps Up Growth Initiative with 100 Hires
London, ON | May 02, 2016
Voices, the largest online marketplace for voice-over in the world and a local success story, has recently announced an impressive growth plan that will have positive implications for London’s economic development.
The company, which was founded by husband and wife team, David and Stephanie Ciccarelli in 2004, recently hit 100 employees. Voices is on track to hit 200 by the end of the year, and 400 after that.
“We consider ourselves a customer-centric company. That means we put the customer’s needs at the core of our decision making process. With that in mind, we’re hiring at every stage of the customer lifecycle,” says David. “We’ve developed a Strategic Plan taking two growth paths – fast and faster. We call the first the base case and the second the accelerated plan. The company is roughly doubling every twelve months! Keeping this pace up for several years will get us to our goal of one hundred million dollars in annual sales by 2020.”
To support the growth, Voices has also undertaken plans for a massive expansion and renovation project for its 150 Dufferin Avenue offices in downtown London. Walls in the newly-accumulated spaces were knocked down last month, with the date of the completed project set for the end of 2016.
With 5 to 15 new employees joining Voices’s ranks every month, the London company has become a haven for young professionals, both within the city and from afar. A recent finalist for the Excellence in HR award for the London Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Awards for the second year in a row and a runner-up for the 2015 Canadian HR Awards, Voices attracts ambitious Millennials through its desirable corporate culture and opportunities for meaningful advancement.
“We receive two hundred-plus applications per month, and almost two thousand people applied last year,” the company’s Human Resource Manager, Kaitlyn Apfelbeck, says. “Many of those come from outside of London. Such numbers indicate that Voices is a company talented employees want to join, and as we continue to expand, we’re thrilled we can introduce these young professionals to our wonderful London community to live and put down roots.”
“Voices is a home grown success story,” says Kapil Lakhotia, President and CEO of the London Economic Development Corporation. “Their exponential growth signifies a major achievement for the company and positively impacts London’s vibrant digital creative sector.”
