In the 16 fifties, the people off the city of New York often noticed a young man in the port. He would spend Oz there, gazing at the motion ships. The youth was called Robinson Crusoe, and father wanted him to be a lawyer. Never, he protested, I would be bored to death. What I really want is to explore the world in one off those big ceiling ships, and one day Robinson disappeared. He left a note behind, explaining that he was at sea, sailing to Brazil. He begged us parents to forgive him and promised that he would return when he had made his fortune. News arrived after a few months. Brazil is beautiful. There's gold there and ivory and spices. We could make a lot of money and then we could buy more land. Leaving his friend to run the farm, he embarked on the first ship that he could find
