What Are the Voices Member Guidelines?

Member guidelines are in place to help you get the most from your Voices membership in an environment that's friendly, safe, and secure.

Voices Community Guidelines

Voices accounts are intended for professional use for our members to share their profiles, demos, and portfolio samples.

The following Community Guidelines are presented to help you understand what it means to be a member of Voices. Don't forget that your use of Voices is subject to these Guidelines and our Terms of Service.

How To Use Voices

* Show mutual respect for fellow members.

Voices is home to creative talent at varying stages of their careers, and by virtue of that, our community thrives. Acknowledging that, we insist that you show mutual respect and be a source of encouragement to others.

* Only upload content that you have created.

Respect the copyright of others. This means don't steal audio or scripts that other people have uploaded. Doing so would not only be in bad judgment, it's wrong.

* Be sure to properly tag your files.

Only you know what your demo and portfolio samples entail when you upload them, and only you can tag them. This will help you to better promote your work, show up for more search queries, and also give people a good indication of what they'll experience when they review your profile. This is a safe place, and if a demo or portfolio sample is reported as obscene or for adult (explicit) content, Voices reserves the right to remove the offending material.

* Do link back to Voices when you post your Voices content elsewhere.

Voices makes it possible to post content hosted on Voices to outside websites. However, pages on other websites that display content hosted on Voices must provide a link from each file, back to its page on Voices.

* Do enjoy Voices!

See the world through others' eyes, participate, find your muse, and expand your horizons!

What Not To Do

Please be advised: Usually when someone violates any elements of Voices' service agreement or guidelines, it is an accidental occurrence and a warning is given; however, if more violations occur this can result in account termination without warning.

* Don't upload anything that isn't yours.

This includes other people's creative work whether audio, visual, or written. Members whose accounts don't respect these guidelines may be edited or terminated without notice.

* Don't forget that Voices content is family-friendly.

Would you let your mother, grandma, or child listen to your work or view your avatar? If you're hesitating, that means that you probably need to edit certain spots in your demo or portfolio sample or choose a different image to represent yourself. If offensive content is found on your profile, your account will be reviewed and then either moderated or terminated by Voices staff.

* Don't show nudity in your profile picture.

This goes without saying but your picture should be professional and not show nudity. If upon the first warning and removal of the image another similar image is uploaded, we reserve the right to terminate your account.

* Don't upload content that is illegal, copyrighted. or prohibited.

If content of this nature is uploaded to your Voices profile, your account will be deleted and appropriate action will be taken, which may include reporting you to the authorities.

* Don't vent your frustrations, rant, or insult other members.

Voices is not a place where you can harass, abuse, impersonate, or intimidate others. If we receive a valid complaint about your conduct, we'll send you a warning or terminate your account. Also, if you are behaving in an unprofessional manner or unknowingly making a spectacle of yourself, we reserve the right to moderate any comments through the blogs that paint you negatively or in a less substantial light.

* Don't use your account to host web graphics like logos and banners.

Your account will be terminated if you include disapproved imagery from other sites, or are linking to other websites that do not uphold the moral standard and values of Voices. If we find anything of this nature, we will remove the offending link, image, etc., to maintain the integrity and purpose of the site.

Copyright Infringement

In the unlikely event that you see photos, demos, or portfolio samples that you've created on another member's profile, we encourage you to contact them and courteously ask them to delete the image or file. If that doesn't work, please send us an email and we will take it from there.

Other Things to Keep in Mind

Although we uphold very high standards, it's possible that you may find disagreeable things on Voices, some of which may even offend you, and likely, would offend us as well. Because the site is so large, it is impossible for us to monitor all activity on profiles and we would appreciate your help in keeping our community safe. If you are offended by a photo, demo, or portfolio sample, you can Report Abuse through our support ticketing system available on every job.

Conclusion

We've designed these guidelines to provide a community environment that is welcoming, engaging, and beneficial to everyone who is a member of Voices.

If you don't feel that you can abide by our Community Guidelines as outlined above, maybe Voices isn't for you.

If you have any questions or comments, we'd love to hear from you. Feel free to Contact Us and we'll do our best to send you a timely response.

Is There a Money Back Guarantee at Voices?

No, we do not offer a money back guarantee on memberships.

A talent membership at Voices provides you with an online presence. We are primarily a marketing tool for creative talent. We are not part of the talent selection process (save for Professional Service jobs) and never part of the awarding process for any job.

We cannot guarantee that you'll be awarded a job within a specific timeframe.

Your ability to get work depends solely on you and the clients who are listening to your work.

We provide you with a Profile, hosted and maintained by us, file space to store your demos and portfolio samples, image and text files, access to resources, how to optimize your Profile to maximize search results, how to bill a client for your services, what to bill a client for your services, and so on.

We bring the clients to the site; it's your job to get the job.

What Are Voices Guidelines On Jobs and Payments?

Voices can only offer dispute resolution services to those who have made use of the Voices payment protection service, SurePay™.

If a job has been awarded via SurePay™, the following are a list of actions Voices will take to assist a member in moving forward.
  1. Voices will follow up with a client or talent if a job appears stuck in one of the SurePay™ stages.
These include following up with:
  • Clients who have indicated difficulty in making a deposit.
  • Clients who have not yet created a Job Agreement.
  • Talent who have not yet accepted a Job Agreement.
  • Talent who have not uploaded any files.
  • Clients who have not yet released payment.
  • Both parties who have not yet left a Review for each other.
We are willing to provide the profile page of the client or talent involved in the project for any direct follow-up, however, we will not release any private contact details as this violates our Terms of Service.
  1. In the case of payment not being released, we require that talent make use of the Request Release feature within their accounts to remind their client to release payment. Funds are set to automatically release 14 days after the delivery deadline set in the agreement.
If payment is not released within 14 days of the delivery deadline, talent should contact Voices Support to follow up about the payment. In order for the above actions to occur, talent will need to contact Voices via [email protected] with the date they requested release of payment through the system along with the Job Number.

If a client continues to respond with requests to hold off on releasing payment, or that they are waiting on file approval, the client will need contact Voices support to adjust the date for the automatic release of funds.

  1. If the issue is concerning the quality of work after a deposit has been made, then a formalized dispute resolution process must be completed.
If a client is requesting a refund of the deposit, they will need to contact [email protected] to advise us of the request.

Following receipt of this request, an email will be sent to both parties involved requesting additional information.

After the information has been received and reviewed a final decision will be made by Voices. If the payment concerns are regarding a project posted at Voices but not awarded through SurePay™ we will not be able to assist in any dispute resolution processes. This also includes situations where work has been delivered prior to payment being made for a job awarded through SurePay ™.

Voices provides the SurePay™ service for all talent to use to obtain payment.

Where Can I Find the Voices Terms of Service?

Our Terms of Service Master Subscription is located at the bottom of our home page and is presented to you prior to submitting your registration for membership with Voices. It is recommended that you review this periodically as information may have changed since you first registered.

Here's a link to our Terms of Service:

https://www.Voices/company/legal/terms_of_service

Why Am I Getting the Terms of Service Warning? I Do Not Have Contact Information In My Proposal.

If you are seeing the Terms of Service warning about direct contact information but you do not have an email address, phone number, or full URL in your proposal, you may have a .com reference in your proposal.

For instance, if you are referencing Amazon.com as a company you've completed work for, the system will hide that address.

Instead, try removing the .com from the name of the company and this warning should go away.

If you still encounter an issue after making these adjustments, please email [email protected] so that we may provide further assistance.

Why Has My Account Been Deleted?

If you find that your Guest account has been removed there could be several reasons why.

Periodically, we review our Guest Memberships, the descriptions provided on their profiles, contact information, and the level of user activity.

Since all of our members could potentially be contacted by clients, we would like to provide clients with viable options in their search.

If we come across profiles that are empty or not in use, we will remove them.

If you have supplied an invalid email address to Voices or our email messages are being returned because they are blocked, we will remove your account as no one would be able to contact you through Voices.

Should you choose to re-register with more complete information regarding your skills and contact information, we will be happy to guide you in making your presence more visible and getting the most out of your Voices membership
